International Fruit Symposium: Advances in Fruit Production

Focus: discuss the advances in fruit production worldwide and in Brazil, based on the development of new technologies.

When: October 17 to 21, 2011.

Synopsis: this is a specific conference designed to gather researchers, growers and students interested in discuss the fruit production and its development due to technological advances. Talks will be presented by some of the most important Brazilian and  foreign fruit experts in some of the main fruit crops.
Main topics: the conference will cover some of the main topics of important fruit crops in Brazil and in the world. The conference will include the latest information about the main goals resulted in gain of productivity and quality operations for fresh and processed markets. The results of long term researches will be presented such as the attempts to improve banana, apple, citrus, mango, grape, and some other tropical, subtropical and temperate fruits. Major topics will include plant breeding, disease and pest control, physiology, post harvest, nutrition, cultural practices and other relevant subjects.
